Overview
YouTube is built around the feed, not the video. Tunnel YT strips out everything designed to keep you scrolling — the home feed, recommendations, comments, Shorts, the nav drawer — leaving just the video you came to watch. Runs automatically on every YouTube page.
What it changes
Hidden
- Home feed — the recommendation grid on youtube.com
- Category chips — the filter bar above the home feed
- Recommendations sidebar — the “Up next” panel on video pages
- Comments section — on all video pages
- Shorts shelf — wherever it appears (home, search results)
- Navigation sidebar — the left-hand guide drawer, site-wide
Left alone
- Subscriptions page — a deliberate destination, not a rabbit hole
Configurable. Toggle it on/off from the popup any time, or set a daily on/off schedule — it manages itself in the background via Chrome's alarm API.
